Have you ever wondered if there are other ways to help Habitat, outside of participating in home construction?
Habitat for Humanity relies on many supporting committees to assist in developing our outreach programs. We are in need of dedicated committee members that are interested in helping with many different aspects of our organization.
Below is a list of the current committees that need members. Take a look at the descriptions and see if you can find an area that suits your interests. Joining a committee is a great way to meet new people and become more involved in ending poverty housing in Onslow County.
Church Relations Committee:
Church Relations Committee serves as a liaison to local congregations of any faith to promote their involvement with Jacksonville/Onslow County Habitat for Humanity. The committee seeks the support of all communities. A long range goal is for partner churches to commit to a Church Covenant program where one or more churches commit to building a house.
Community Relations Committee:
The Community Relations Committee helps to educate and inform the local community and the general public about the mission of Habitat for Humanity and the need for better and more affordable housing. They are in charge of publicizing the events and news of JOHFH throughout Onslow County
Donations Committee:
The Donor Relations Committee is a group of individuals who enjoy developing relationships with local business in the effort to assist in waste reduction by providing an alternative conduit for materials and generates quality merchandise for our customers. The Donations Committee works to solicit donations.
Fundraising Committee:
The Fund Raising Committee solicits financial support for Habitat. This is a hands-on committee whose members go into the community to raise funds. The objective is to develop sustained giving as a means to eliminate sub-standard housing in Onslow County. Creativity is highly encouraged to generate new ideas, events, and morale. The Committee also researches and writes grants applications.
Restore Committee:
The ReStore Committee is comprised of volunteers interested in general management and policy of the Resale Store. This committee works toward addressing any urgent needs as well as daily operational concerns.
Volunteer Committee:
The Volunteer Committee will assume the responsibility of scheduling needed volunteers in an orderly way. The committee will work to seek new volunteers, recognize and reward current volunteers, and enable volunteers to cultivate new leadership and responsibility within JOHFH. The Volunteer Committee will also be responsible for communicating with volunteers, organizing and storing liability waivers.
