About Us

Jacksonville/Onslow Habitat for Humanity
Jacksonville/Onslow Habitat for Humanity was established in 2005 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat is a non-profit ecumenical Christian organization with the goal to eliminate substandard housing in Onslow County, NC. Habitat for Humanity invites people from all walks of life to work together in partnership to help build and repair homes with families in need. Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and renovates simple, decent housing with the help of the homeowner and their families. Each homeowner participates in the process by working a required numbers of hours towards the completion of their home project and is responsible for a no interest mortgage once the home is complete.

Jacksonville/Onslow Habitat for Humanity has completed one home in Onslow County. The home was completed in 2006 and is located on Dewitt Street. The next Habitat home is currently under construction and located at 1622 Hargett St.

Our Goals
Our affiliate has a goal to build five houses per year. We hope to reach that goal within the next five years. We cannot achieve success without the continued support and dedication of our volunteers, donors, and community.

Habitat Restore
Our Habitat Restore is located at 1205 Hargett St, New River Shopping Center, in Jacksonville. We accept donated items with the exception of clothing, toys, and paint. All proceeds benefit the next Habitat home in Onslow County.
